The Role: As a Veterinarian Assistant at Petzoic Vet Hospital, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians. You will work closely with them in both Urgent Care and Primary Care settings, ensuring the well-being of our clients and animal patients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting veterinarians, in exam rooms by helping with SOAP templates, creating treatment plans and invoices, preparing medications, and other administrative and medical duties.
• Prepare examination rooms, and equipment for procedures.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the hospital.
• Providing hands-on care for animals before, during, and after examinations and treatments.
• Assisting with diagnostic procedures, including X-rays and laboratory tests.
• Assisting with client communication and addressing their questions and concerns.
• Assisting with client education and communication regarding pet care and wellness plans.
• Educating and communicating with pet owners regarding care instructions and post-treatment guidelines.
• Completing follow up appointments and call backs.
• Managing and responding to email correspondence efficiently.
• Collaborating with the Veterinarian and hospital team to deliver exceptional patient care.
• Provide support in managing client records, scheduling appointments, and answering phone inquiries.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure a positive and efficient workflow.

Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• A strong interest in veterinary medicine and a genuine love for animals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Veterinary Medical Terminology is an asset.
• A willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Previous experience in a veterinary setting is a plus, but not required.
• The ability to be cross trained with VMRs and TAs.
