Opportunity
Position: We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant, to provide care for animals within our Mobile Wellness Spay/Neuter clinic setting in Sudbury, ON. This will include supporting the compassionate set up and pre- and post-op requirements of each animal. Veterinary Assistants ensure a healthy environment for all our residents via routine grooming, housekeeping, and disinfection, and assist in booking and providing care instructions. Although essential animal care and associated activities are the primary focus for this role, customer service and related client administrative duties are paramount to the clinic and therefore to the success of this position.
Status: Full-time or Part-time, Permanent.
Location: This role works onsite at the Sudbury Mobile Wellness Spay/Neuter Clinic, Sudbury ON
A Typical Day
· Booking clients into Mobile Veterinary Clinic
· Greeting clients and answering general inquiries regarding pre and post-op care
· Providing pre and post op care to the animals in our trust, under the direction of the RVT’s and Veterinarians
· Recording relevant information about animals, including weight and types of medication given
· General housekeeping and/or disinfection of the clinic including sterilization of hospital/medical equipment, cleaning floors and counter tops, crates etc.
· Assist in preparing for, setting up, and tearing down mobile clinic locations
· Maintain, clean, and sterilize hospital/medical equipment
· Maintain sterility of surgical environment and self as needed
· Clean and disinfect cages, rooms, and surrounding areas
· General housekeeping and/or disinfection of clinic/centre, including cleaning floors and
counter tops Clean and disinfect cages, rooms, and surrounding areas
· Maintain inventory and ordering of mobile unit supplies
· Prepares mobile unit for operating including packing equipment, unloading, and setting up unit
· Assists in closing down mobile unit and returning supplies to Provincial Office storage

Do You Have What it Takes?
· Animal care experience
· High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
· Open availability including weekdays, weekends and holidays
· Regular travel required
· Ability to lift 18 kg (40lbs) and pull 45 kg (100 lbs)
· Valid G drivers’ licence with the ability to provide a clear driver’s abstract
· Team player
· Previous clerical training an asset
· Customer service experience an asset
· Certificate or College Diploma in Animal Care or working towards, preferred
