In our accelerated growth journey and mission to Do Some Good® for animals and the planet, we are looking for an exceptional, innovative, mission-driven finance leader to help build a globally trusted and loved brand and scale into the most successful omni-channel and sustainability focused CPG company in the world.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, FP&A will be an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team and a pivotal leader, responsible for developing financial strategies and plans that align with Open Farm's long-term goals and objectives. As Open Farm continues to grow, so do the size of complexities of our finance operations, so Open Farm is looking for a Vice President of Finance who has experience across a broad spectrum of finance disciplines to drive outcomes that create value.

- Financial Leadership
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the Leadership team, guiding financial decision-making and driving long-term business success.
- Oversee Financial Planning & analysis, including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Assist in raising additional capital at appropriate valuations to enable the company to meet its long-term objectives.
- Support the creation of board packages and monthly shareholder reports.
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy and usefulness of financial management and reporting to the CFO and CEO
- Manage all short and long-term strategic financial objectives, supporting the Leadership team with vital financial information and operational analytics, and driving a culture of accountability in managing this business.
- Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with the Leadership team to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Assess and analyze market trends, industry developments, and financial implications to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create detailed financial forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans aligned with Open Farm's unique market positioning.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the annual budget and forecasting planning cycle, using a KPI based approach to planning for both our DTC and wholesale channels, while working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
- Implement robust forecasting models to identify potential risks and opportunities, ensuring proactive management of financial performance.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Bring a deep understanding of FP&A to identify areas for optimization.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, presenting insights and recommendations to the Leadership team for continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with internal team to provide insights and Analysis to support sales planning, supply chain and inventory Planning and omni-channel reporting.
- Risk Management and Compliance
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard the financial health of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, reporting requirements and accounting standards.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Lead a high-performing FP&A team within the finance group that supports the success of our Wholesale, eCommerce, and Operations teams.
- Act as a trusted partner for the various teams across the organization.
- Mentor and develop finance team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- This role will require the person to work out of our Toronto headquarters three to four days out of the work week.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a financial leader, with a minimum of 5 years in a finance leadership role
- Exceptional analytical and modelling skills, with a background focused on Financial Planning and Analysis, along with a strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic Planning and execution, with the ability to drive projects across the organization.
- Knowledge in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG) considered a plus.
- Transaction experience not limited to initial public offering (IPO), fund raising, and Private Equity exposure considered a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
