This position provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services; supervising staff.
Essential Functions
- Managing warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision.
- Maintain receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures.
- Complies with federal and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with BV system
- Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
- Help manage an accurate, revolving FIFO inventory and rigorously investigate any discrepancies.
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Drive the day to day activities to ensure the accuracy, governance, and maintenance of SOPs.
- Achieve financial objective by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results
- Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching; counseling and discipline employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Liaising with customers, suppliers and transport companies
- Using space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently and making sure quality, budgetary targets and environment objectives are met
- Ensure pick orders accurately from inventory locations.
- Have a clear understanding of the company’s policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
- Keeping stock control systems up to date and making sure inventories are accurate; planning future capacity requirements
- Overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
- Ensure all personnel comprehend safety regulations according to OSHA regulations to include safety classes given weekly.
Job Specifications
- Transportation/Distribution or Logistics experience
- 3 years Supply Chain Management experience
- Developing and manage budgets, safety management, developing standards, managing processes, surveillance skills, inventory control, analyzing information
- Equipment maintenance and good judgement
- College or university education
