Area Manager- Central Processing Center (CPC)
Summary:
Accountable for the overall production process and quality control (accurate sorting, grading, and pricing) for soft goods and automated book processing within the central processing center (CPC). Reports to the Operations Manager, CPC.
Essential Job Functions:

Consistent Processing Performance & Results
- Maximizesfull utilization of product to maximize sales and profit potential.
- Manages item put out & volume ensuring the right items are processed with accurate sorting and
- Observes and validates effectiveness of sorting and grading processes and efficiency of labor. Course corrects as required.
- Analyzes production and sales data to identify performance and clearly understand cause of issues and accurate solutions. Applies key learnings to achieve better results.
- Ensures the Savers recycling program is fully leveraged to reduce landfill and allow for further reuse of un-saleable items.
- Works with other Area Managers to ensure the team member schedule for CPC is done on time and reflects consistent staffing and process flow.
Equipment & Supply Maintenance:
- Ensures all machinery and equipment within their departments is in good working order; regularly
minimizing down-time. Advises Maintenance Supervisor when service required.
- Manages the upkeep and replacement of supplies to ensure minimal down-time and to meet health
Leadership & Development:
- Partners with Operations Manager and Administration Manager to proactively plan staffing needs,
- Regularly interacts, trains, coaches, and counsels the Area Supervisors, and team members. Provides recognition and candid feedback. Addresses complaints and solves issues.
- Identifies and develops high potential team members for supervisory and management positions
- Role models and maintains a respectful, values-driven workplace that adheres to all Savers’
Policies and Procedures.
Safety & Loss Prevention:
- Maintains a safe work environment through education, consistent follow up, ensuring policies and
- Partners with Administration Manager on safety issues and solutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Must possess/obtain a forklift trainer certificate.
Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:
- High School diploma: Post-Secondary degree/diploma preferred.
- Experience in Savers production environment, managing the functions of sorting/grading/pricing
- Results-driven industrial management experience (external candidates).
- Experience in lean manufacturing an asset.
- Sound knowledge of industry-specific equipment.

Key Performance Indicators:
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry products weighing less than 5 lbs. Will occasionally need to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional pushing and pulling of racks/carts weighing 50 to 250 pounds using 4 – 10 lbs. of force.
- Frequent reaching out in various levels/directions to inspect/handle merchandise, validate work
- Possess dexterity for complex hand-eye tasks, including keyboarding, writing on documents/forms,
- Continuous standing, frequent walking and stair climbing, stooping, bending, and twisting and
train/coach/counsel the team.
- Frequently required to read written & electronic documents and product labels.
- Continuously needs to hear and verbally communicate in order to interact with and respond to
