Warehouse Manager

Responsible for warehouse operations with Tim Hortons Distribution, you have real impact in providing millions of Canadians with their favorite cup of coffee every day. We are looking for a self-starter with an ownership mindset, strong safety culture, front-line leadership skills, and focus on process efficiency, continuous improvement and customer service.

Under the guidance of the Sr. Operations Manager, the Warehouse Manager will be accountable for the overall management of all warehouse activities. The successful candidate will ensure daily operational targets are met while maintaining positive employee relations and ensuring a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• 3 - 5 years of supervisory/management experience within the warehouse/freight logistics industry
• Experience with warehouse and labor management systems
• Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, process improvement and decision making skills
• Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to safety
• Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule in order to accommodate all needs of the day and night shifts
• Proficient computer skills in MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Previous experience in developing and implementing a continuous improvement culture
• A proven track record of developing direct reports from both an operational and leadership perspective

Key Accountabilities

• Organize, direct and manage warehousing operations including daily flow of inbound and outbound products to ensure production requirements are met
• Monitor key performance indicators and prepare reports and related statistics
• Assures the integrity of the inventory management function within the Calgary DC, including cycle counting, physical inventories, month end reconciliation's, inventory reports (slotting. damages, lost and found, staff use, obsolete) and pallet control.
• Protect Company assets, staff and public through developing, recommending, and implementing effective safety and security programs for the distribution center.
• Support Monthly JHSC Meetings management, Team review and V-Comply
• Carry out routines, policies and standard operating procedures for the warehouse operations
• Ensure safe working environment and drive safety culture including food safety
• Ensure the completion on daily mandates to provide on time and quality deliveries to our Restaurants
• Make recruitment and hiring recommendations of direct reports and oversee all employee training including orientation, health and safety, technology and customer service
• Mentor, coach and develop supervisory team including personal and succession planning
• Ensure compliance and training standards are met
• Make shift structure recommendations to manage workflow/volumes and production targets
• Work with senior leadership to develop and document standard warehouse operating policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective workplace practices and processes
• Work with other departments to maximize operational efficiencies, reduce bottlenecks and troubleshoot issues that may arise
• Contribute to the overall warehouse operations strategy ensuring effective rollout of programs
