Job description

This full time, permanent position is located in Presstran in St. Thomas, ON.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • On site position from Monday - Friday, with hours of 8am - 4:30pm.
  • Manages the day-to-day Tool Crib operations
  • Provides the customer with on-site sales support and seeks out additional technical support when necessary. Processes orders when required in a timely manner
  • Identifies opportunities to expand WFS offering and new sales opportunities
  • Sources products for customers not in our usual vendor base when required
  • Provides quotes to customers when required in a timely manner and follows up on customer back orders, quotes, and concerns. Seeks special contract prices from vendors when applicable
  • Maintains knowledge of freight instructions and billing – inbound and outgoing
  • Ensures pricing matrix is followed and invoicing issues are identified and solved
  • Participates in customer pricing audits when applicable. Provides cost savings/avoidances/improvements to customer when possible. Provides product substitutions as alternatives or when requested
  • Manages accurate inventory levels in Autocrib software, S2K and SAP software to attain an accuracy of 97% through cycle counting and receiving procedures. Communicates with the customer’s purchasing and engineering department to ensure the proper plant specs are being met and the proper inventory is available for spare parts
  • Manages leadership activities, such as recruitment, performance management, scheduling shifts, vacation scheduling, workforce management, coaching, motivating, team member development, engagement, etc.
  • Manages the required staffing levels and provides necessary training to maintain high levels of customer service and provides a safe and positive work environment
  • Ensures that the WFS team members have the required tools to perform their jobs to the level expected
  • Delegates work to the proper team members (on-site staff and/or crib attendant, ICSR) to ensure everyone is doing their part to keep the operation as successful as possible
  • Provides feedback to leaders regarding ideas or changes that can be made to improve all off-site locations
  • Strives to maintain the high level of respect WFS has earned in the marketplace
  • Keeps in mind the effect that all daily activities and actions have on profitability
  • Continuously improves product knowledge through vendor online training, research, LinkedIn Learning, etc.
  • Processes RMAs as per Quality System procedures as required
  • Reviews all reports that are created and makes inquiries as needed i.e. Autocrib reports, S2K reports
  • Follows all safety protocol in compliance with WFS' health and safety policies and procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as the health and safety policies of the customer’s facility
  • Supports the WFS Quality System
  • Demonstrates and excels in WFS Principles, including but not limited to the following behaviours: Start with the customer, Embrace curiosity, Act with intent, Compete with urgency, Win as one team, Invest in our success and Do the right thing
  • All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Business Administration, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Relevant WFS and/or industrial experience an asset
  • Previous supervisory experience would be an asset, with a focus on servicing external customers
  • Capable of positive coaching, team building, training, and development of direct reports, coupled with a ‘hands-on” management style
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service, internal relationship building, having a “sense of urgency”, enthusiastic and assertive, highly organized, strong communicator and mentor
  • Strong personal attributes such as self-motivation, analytical, capable of working independently and a strong team motivator
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrate strong communication both written and verbal, including demonstrated computer skills, including MS Office programs
