JOB DESCRIPTION
KENN BOREK AQUATIC CENTRE
FACILITY ATTENDANT (SLIDE/CLIMBING WALL)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Aqua cs Manger and/or the Aquatic Supervisor or designate, the
Facility Attendant is responsible for the supervision of the water slide and/or the climbing wall. These
a endants support staff with change room checks, janitorial work, and they may assist with special
events such as birthday par es, pool events, and City-wide events. Shi s are scheduled based on facility
days and hours of operation.
KEY DUTIES PERFORMED:
1. Supervision of water slide and climbing wall users.
2. Provides instruction and safety for climbing participants and programs. Ensures all necessary
equipment is in good working order.
3. Responsible for waterslide inspections and signs off.
4. Performs assigned facility cleaning and changeroom checks, i.e. helping with incidents, hosing the
deck, cleaning windows, cleaning bathrooms and laundry.
5. Provides excellent service to the public.
6. Assists with set up and delivery of special events i.e.: themed swims, family day, contests, etc.
7. Other related duties as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS:
1. Minimum 16 years of age by hiring date.
2. Physical agility and ability to complete duties requiring physical effort.
3. Ability to maintain harmonious relationships with all members of the public and other staff members.
4. Compliance with a Criminal Record Search with a Vulnerable Sector.
5. Attend all scheduled in-services/training.
6. The ability to perform all of the duties outlined in a safe manner following established Facility
Procedures, Occupational, Health & Safety Rules, and Violence in the Workplace policies and W.C.B.
Regulations (i.e., WHMIS).
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
1. Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion or Bronze Cross Certifications.
2. Completion of a Belay Course at Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre.
3. Completion of Indoor Level 1, 2 or Association of Canadian Mountain Guide Certification (19+).
4. Standard First Aid Certification with CPR C/AED.
