Account Manager – Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

Cape Breton Beverages Limited is a fourth-generation, family-owned Pepsi bottling franchise. The company has been operating in Cape Breton for over 70-years, and together with its sister company Trans-Atlantic Preforms Limited employs 100-people in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. We locally produce Pepsi, 7-Up, Schweppes, and Crush soft-drink products and distribute other beverages including Aquafina, Montellier, Bubly and Evian waters, along with Gatorade, Dole, Lipton, Starbucks, Guru, and Rockstar beverages to Cape Breton Island, as well as produce specific packages of Pepsi and other-branded soft-drinks for the rest of Atlantic Canada, Quebec, and Ontario. Job Description:

Account Manager Cape Breton Beverages

6 Month Term Position (with potential to turn into permanent)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Day to Day Logistics:

  • Daily sales calls to stores in their territory.
  • Sell sufficient product inventory to meet customer demand.
  • Execute sales plans through selling, merchandising, shelving, and building exciting displays in assigned territory.
  • Engaging and onboarding new customers to PepsiCo products, services and promotions to enhance in store presence.
  • Develop all assigned accounts relative to achieve sales, market share, product distribution, space allocation and customer service.
  • Identify selling opportunities to increase incremental displays and promotional programs in store.
  • Utilize point-of-sale materials to stimulate sales.
  • Maintain and increase shelf facings, and racks, clean shelving and racking and rotate product.
  • Be aware of important customer history and status including contract renewals and ensure customer satisfaction by regularly soliciting feedback and share information.
  • Eliminate out-of-stocks and out-of-date product through effective order taking.
  • Work closely with warehouse and delivery to ensure effective service.
  • Monitor and report on competitive activity.
  • Assist in the organization of company events (i.e., golf tournaments)
  • Adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Assist with accounts receivables as required.

Customers and Stakeholders:

  • Educating and exciting customers about our existing portfolio of beverages and upcoming innovations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to assigned accounts.
  • Proactively engage with customers and build customer relationships.
  • Be proactively engaged and connected in community events and inform Sales Supervisor of key events.
  • Resolve customer issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Understand customer needs and provide solutions from our product line.

Communication:

  • Present key updates to Sales Supervisor.
  • Regular communication around sales activities.
  • Keep Sales Supervisor informed of important community news and events (i.e. obituaries of key customers/stakeholders, upcoming community events).

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform service repairs and preventative maintenance in trade on drink dispensing equipment (fountain, coolers, vendors, etc.) as required.
  • Delivery and delivery assistance of cooler and vendor equipment in the trade.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience.
  • 1-2 years of direct selling experience.
  • Food Service or Consumer Products experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to perform the physical aspects of the job involved in display building and merchandising our products, which include frequent lifting (up to 45 lbs.), bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and reaching over shoulder.
