The Opportunity
You will:
- Record and review financial transactions, post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately and appropriately
- Coordinate month end activities and full-year accounting processes to ensure timely reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Complete and review monthly schedules for fixed assets, prepaids, and accruals
- Prepare schedules and balance sheet reconciliations in support of the monthly financial statements, including intercompany accounts
- Perform variance analysis on actuals versus budget, prior month, and year to date
- Perform payroll functions by calculating vacation, bonus, commissions, benefits, and other processes as needed
- Perform cash forecast on a weekly basis
- Perform and review bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
- Review and understand the Company's revenue process and contractual obligations
- Prepare and review financial analysis and reporting functions, including but not limited to KPIs development, SaaS metrics, variance and trend analysis and other measures for strategic and reporting purposes
- Prepare working papers for annual audit
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts for internal departments, overall financial statements, and cash requirements
- Calculate and prepare equity entries, maintenance of internal cap tables, options, and warrants
- Ad-hoc tasks as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting or equivalent
- CPA or CPA in progress is an asset but not required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Data analysis and Power BI experience is an asset)
- Knowledge of IFRS reporting and requirements
- Experience with Quickbooks Online or equivalent is an asset
- Excellent oral and written interpersonal and communication skills in English
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented team player who works well to meet deadlines on time with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
