Based in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake, and in the heart of Founding Director Andorlie Hillstrom, Yellow Door Theatre Project is a registered charity that offers musical theatre skill training and performance opportunities with the full intention of changing lives—through experience for life! We offer skill training through recreational classes, as well as our fall production company and summer intensive programs.
Job Type: Part-time (Hybrid - in person hours combined with work from home)
Responsibilities:
- Perform general administrative duties such as responding to phone calls, responding to emails, and managing correspondence
- Maintain and update office records and files, both electronic and physical, ensuring confidentiality and security of information
- Greet visitors and provide them with necessary information regarding classes and the studio, or assistance
- Manage office supplies and inventory
- Coordinate meetings and appointments
- Schedule classes, private lessons and maintain calendars for multiple staff members
- Required to learn and facilitate scheduling, content and month end for all Studio accounts using Dance Studio Pro
- Prepare and distribute documents as needed
- Creating and distributing contracts for instructors and new staff members and under the direction of the Artistic Producer
- Keeping track of all classes, rentals and events happening at the studio, and assisting with event set up when need be
Skills:
- Proficient in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Canva; Google Calendar)
- Strong computer skills, including printers
- Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Post-graduate diploma or degree is an asset
- Experience working as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role in an office setting is a plus
This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position also requires excellent problem solving skills and the ability to think on the spot, as well as strong leadership skills.
