Job Title: Temporary Administrative Assistant – Education Department
Location: National Office, Toronto
Position:
Unifor has a temporary opportunity as an Administrative Assistant (maternity & parental leave replacement) in its Education department. This role provides support and coordinates the courses (online or in person), conferences and councils for the Education Department. To succeed, you must be highly organized and detail oriented.
Position responsibilities:
- Updating any existing course manuals and setting up new manuals for both Education and Human Rights Departments;
- Updating department booklets, leaflets, guides (i.e. Education Committee Handbook Steward Handbook, Workplace Bullying etc.);
- Updating the Education Department Website with Port Elgin and Area Courses schedules, courses descriptions, scholarship information etc.;
- Maintaining and updating Discussion Leaders database with their contact information and experience, application and confirmation letters;
- Responsible for formatting and sending in the Department Reports for the Councils, Conventions and NEB meetings;
- Supporting and coordinating the Education Conference held bi-annually;
- Coordinating and supporting the organization of the Family Education Program with the staff working out of the Family Education Centre, in Port Elgin (call letters, contact person with guest speakers, hotel and travel arrangements, material orders, payments);
- Maintaining the Online Education webpage, Nation Builder, and sending out communications to various mailing lists, webinar registrations and follow-up emails to participants with material and links to WebEx online course;
- Providing additional support when required for area courses, including class packs and registration.
Position requirements:
- Expert in Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Knowledge of Docebo (online registration and knowledge base), Nation Builder (eblasts, DL databases, webinar registration/participant invitations and follow-ups, website), social media;
- Proficiency with SurveyMonkey and JotForm;
- Ability to work within deadlines;
- Ability to organize and coordinate his/her work schedule;
- Strong written skills;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision;
- Flexibility on job assignments and the ability to work well with others.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 14 months
Salary: $30.72 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
