About us:
The Communications team of University Admissions and Outreach (UAO), in the Division of the Vice-Provost for Strategic Enrolment Management (VP-SEM), is responsible for marketing and communications of all direct entry undergraduate programs at the University to prospective students and applicants. Communications works in close collaboration with the UAO teams in Recruitment, Outreach, and Admissions, as well as the University Registrar’s Office, and divisional and campus partners. Within the UAO’s context, the Communications team is responsible for inbound and outbound marketing, internal communications, coordinating tri-campus messaging, creating content, updating websites and resources, developing marketing collateral, as well as acting as a resource for divisional/campus communications, admissions, and recruitment teams.
Your opportunity:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Recruitment and Admissions Communications, the incumbent manages and develops admissions communications from a central perspective, and advises on and coordinates applicant/admitted student communications from a divisional perspective. The incumbent also compiles, organizes, and oversees internal knowledge bases and relays admissions updates to internal audiences. The position involves working closely with the Office of Student Recruitment, the University Admissions team, and divisional recruitment & admissions teams toensure that a student has a seamless and positive transition from prospect to applicant.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Developing and updating content for marketing and/or promotional materials and web properties
-Supporting the planning and implementation of communication plans informed by data and research
-Analyzing statistical information to inform admissions projections and planning activities
-Ensuring consistent student-centric and inclusive communications across the admissions landscape
-Evaluating effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives and making recommendations for improvements
-Fostering and maintaining a network of contacts to support admission communications strategies; Liaising with stakeholders to support initiatives
-Maintaining documentation relating to applications and admissions; Updating and maintaining database records
-Keeping well informed on industry best practices and trends; Keeping well-informed on University programs, policies and procedures
-Developing learning outcomes for workshops and/or services then facilitating workshops and/or seminars
-Providing formal job-related training; Serving as a resource on specific issues to a group of specialists
-Acting as the first point of contact for CRM system issues; Troubleshooting and resolving routine issues.
 
Essential Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in a related field required (e.g. Marketing, Communications), or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
-Minimum four (4) years related experience in an undergraduate admissions/student recruitment environment within a large post-secondary institution
-Experience advising prospective students, assessing applications for admission, and applying university policies
-Experience with marketing, writing for the web, content development, and internal communications
-Experience in interpreting data and developing reports
-Experience and knowledge of constituent Relationship Management (CRM) systems
-Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with an ability to work independently and in a team environment
-Excellent computer skills, including making use of external information systems and web-based applications; Advanced software skills to include: Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
-Demonstrated project management skills and organizational ability
-Broad-ranging numerical skills, analytical/statistical skills, organizational and problem-solving skills
-Able to exercise tact, discretion and exercise good judgement
-Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders comfortably and professionally with a customer-service orientation and maintaining confidentiality
-Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and manage competing priorities and processes, while maintaining high level of quality
-Capacity to react to adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently in a collaborative manner
Assets (Nonessential):
-Knowledge of University of Toronto and University Admissions and Outreach policies, procedures and business processes is an asset
-Preference for applicants with experience using Technolutions Slate
-Familiarity with issues and trends in undergraduate admissions/student recruitment and communications preferred

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 -- $78,308 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $100,144. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
