Purpose
The Analyst – GWO – Specialized Payments is considered the expert in ensuring timely and accurate execution of wire payments. The Analyst has both the internal operation knowledge and the industry knowledge. The Analyst is also responsible to ensure workflow and processes are optimized in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. The Analyst is responsible for managing and controlling the day to day activities of Canadian, US Dollar and all other payment currencies in coordination with the Scotia Wealth/Settlements & Clearing / GBM and other Business units within GWO. The incumbent is required to provide strong leadership, guidance and direction to the staff, as well recognize training and development needs to ensure a satisfactory level of customer service in all aspects of the operation.
What you'll do:
-Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
-Responsible for completing day-to-day operational activities related to manual payment support for GWO. This includes but is not limited to completing payments, investigation of payment issues and involvement with projects as they relate to the team, as well as any other assigned daily control points.
-Responsible for effectively supporting, communicating with, and maintaining excellent working relations with all stakeholders in order to ensure that payment processing is completed in an accurate and timely manner
-Responsible for being the first point of contact in providing excellent customer service by insightful feedback and accurate analysis in a timely manner on all customer requests as they relate Specialized Payments
-Will consistently look for any opportunities for process improvements to maximize efficiencies.
-Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
-Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
-Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
What you'll bring:
-Working knowledge of SWIFT and payments processing
-Solid organizational skills, flexibility and capacity to effectively delegate is required to manage operations and work volumes in an efficient and effective manner.
-Team building skills are required to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with staff to achieve the department operating requirements/objectives.
-University Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Capital Markets
Work arrangement:
This position is currently a Hybrid role, with the expectation that you will work in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
