As our new Assistant General Manager - Retirement, you will:

Our Assistant General Managers - lead, empower and support our self-directed team members to deliver resident-centered care that focuses on flexible living and quality of life.
Our Assistant General Managers are outstanding relationship builders who foster deep relationships and connections by demonstrating a serving leadership philosophy with all members of our village community. They are exceptional leaders and people managers who have a deep understanding of senior living and village life. They leverage their unique strengths, skills and knowledge to deliver our mission to provide holistic health care in a home environment, located within an internal Neighbourhood design that promotes a caring community, with emphasis on optimal health and life purpose for each Resident.
Our Assistant General Managers champion the culture change of aging within the Village by promoting an ongoing commitment to putting living first for residents, developing operational plans with key initiatives that support furthering the aspiration statements, looking for ways to keep the momentum going, celebrating key successes; and inspiring collaboration and participation at all levels. They lead the profitability and sustainability of the Village through the annual budget process which requires analyzing financial needs, predicting future financial costs, utilizing resources and expenditures effectively and making the right investments in capital and resources to provide for a sustainable village.
To be successful as our new Assistant General Manager - Retirement, you will:
- Hold a post-secondary degree or post-secondary diploma in health or social services or equivalent employment and leadership experience
- Be excited by our objectives, our Village philosophy and the family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
- Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant General Manager role
- Completed a program in long-term care home administration (as approved by MOHLTC)
It would be an asset if our new Assistant General Manager has:
- Proven the ability to be adaptable and flexible and accommodate a diverse set of individual needs
- Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and Collective Agreements in order to lead Village hiring, performance, growth and development, discipline, safety, compensation and recognition
- Knowledge and experience as a leader in Retirement, Program Standard Manual requirements, and the Resident Bill of Rights
- Knowledge and experience in operational fiscal management
