The Crown Agencies Secretariat (CAS) is a central agency that supports British Columbia’s public sector organizations (PSOs) to operate effectively, in the public interest, and in alignment with government’s strategic direction and priorities. The responsibilities of CAS include: leadership and support for board appointments and training/development for PSOs; leadership for the annual performance planning and reporting cycle, including ministry and Crown agency service plans and annual service plan reports, as well as Crown agency mandate letters; integrated financial, policy and communications oversight for certain agencies; and advisory services and supports.
Reporting to the Executive Lead, the Director oversees the development and implementation of strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagement initiatives in support of the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and other public sector organizations as required. In close collaboration with Government Communications and Public Engagement, the position will lead and coordinate external Communications and Stakeholder Engagement initiatives for CAS on ICBC-related matters, excluding media relations. This position leads and provides expert counsel on issues management and Stakeholder relations strategies to CAS’s senior executive and leadership team.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business administration, communications, journalism, media relations, public policy or political science, plus 3 years of relevant experience in a communications role that includes providing strategic communications advice to senior executives and leading Stakeholder Engagement.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related experience must include:
- 3 years experience providing strategic communications advice and recommendations to senior executives (e.g. Executive Directors, Deputy Ministers, Ministers, Cabinet, or equivalent senior executive role).
- Experience in leadership roles in a professional service or stakeholder management environment.
- Experience in creating and delivering executive-level presentations for the purpose of decision making.
- Experience establishing collaborative relationships with senior leaders and leading organizational change associated with implementation.

Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. This position can be based out of any of the locations listed above.
