We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Axe Throwing Manager at our location in Blue Mountain Village. As the Axe Throwing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Axe throwing venue, ensuring the safety of staff and guests, and providing an exceptional AXED experience. You will also be responsible for managing a team of Axe throwing coaches, organizing group events and tournaments, maintaining inventory, addressing customer concerns, and handling HR and administrative duties. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor daily operations and ensure that all staff and guests at our Blue Mountain Village location are adhering to safety guidelines and having an incredible AXED experience. This includes regularly inspecting the facility, ensuring proper equipment maintenance, and enforcing safety protocols.
- Act as a coach to provide safety instructions, guidance, and one-on-one coaching to guests participating in Axe throwing activities. Ensure that guests are properly briefed on safety procedures, equipment usage, and throwing techniques to promote a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Lead large groups and manage the flow of participants during peak times, ensuring that all guests receive proper attention and coaching. Maintain a welcoming and organized environment to accommodate groups of varying sizes and skill levels.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote the Axe throwing venue, attract new customers, and increase revenue. Participate in promotional events, outreach initiatives, and community engagement to raise awareness and drive business growth.
- Train, supervise, and manage a team of Axe throwing coaches, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent quality and safety standards. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance coaching skills and promote a positive team culture.
- Plan and oversee group events, tournaments, and corporate functions, including coordinating scheduling, staffing, and logistics. Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and ensure seamless execution of events.
- Manage inventory of supplies necessary for successful venue operation, including wood, merchandise, food, and beverage. Monitor stock levels, track expenses, and place orders as needed to maintain adequate inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Address customer complaints and feedback in a timely and professional manner, striving to resolve issues and exceed customer expectations. Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle HR responsibilities, including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, and other administrative duties related to staff management. Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and provide opportunities for professional development.
- Ensure compliance and stay up to date with all Health and Safety standards, including conducting monthly fire prevention checks and implementing necessary measures. Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices and communicate updates to the team.
- Manage computer systems and handle issues related to bookings and tech support, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the venue. Collaborate with the IT department or external vendors to resolve technical issues promptly and optimize the booking system.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a managerial role, preferably in the hospitality or entertainment industry. Experience in the recreational activity industry or knowledge of Axe throwing is a plus.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture by encouraging open communication, recognizing and rewarding achievements, and providing ongoing training and development opportunities for staff members.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Demonstrate effective time management skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on providing memorable experiences for guests. Proactively address customer needs and concerns to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to enforce and promote safety guidelines. Stay updated with industry safety standards and regulations, and implement necessary measures to ensure a safe environment.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Familiarity with booking systems, point of sale software, and Microsoft Office suite is preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Adaptability to changing business needs and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
