The Newfoundland and Labrador Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA NL) is recruiting for an Office Manager (Part Time). BOMA NL is a not-for-profit association dedicated to the commercial real estate industry within the province. The 70 members represent a variety of commercial building owners, property managers, professional services and vendors that provide commercial building services. In addition to delivering their members with networking opportunities, industry news and reports, educational sessions and social events, BOMA NL also advocates on the industry’s behalf on government policies, regulations, and taxation, while encouraging and supporting property enhanced energy efficiency and sustainability practices and emergency preparedness.
What you will be doing
- Craft and execute a compelling vision and strategic plan in alignment with BOMA NL’s mission, demonstrating leadership to the Board of Directors.
- Cultivate robust connections with members by organizing and participating in events, attracting and retaining members, and ensuring accurate recording of dues and membership details.
- Oversee the association's finances by managing the budget, controlling expenses, and identifying funding opportunities and sponsorships.
- Provide essential board support by documenting official board minutes, ensuring legal integrity, and executing contracts.
- Identify and nurture strategic partnerships to amplify BOMA NL’s mission.
- Act as the primary spokesperson, advocating for BOMA NL's interests with external stakeholders, and establish and maintain relationships with government agencies and relevant organizations.
- Oversee and perform day-to-day operations, and establish and maintain effective policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Drive marketing and communications initiatives by publishing news, leveraging media for promotion, and updating social media accounts.
What you will bring
- Candidates should reside within commuting distance of St. John's
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Proven leadership and financial management experience.
- Previous involvement in not-for-profit associations or commercial real estate is an asset
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in financial management and budgeting.
