The Opportunity
Reporting to the Team Lead - Finance Reporting and Analytics, the Business Analyst will be work closely with Finance leaders and other stakeholders across the institution to provide technical, business process and reporting support. You will work with leaders in both departments to create new, refine, and enhance current processes and reports.
This role involves regular system administration, report building and maintenance, as well as working within the highly customizable system to create new models and introduce expanded functionality to our users to meet SAIT's ever-growing business needs.
The role will also build reports for Finance using Adaptive, Argos and other BI tools. This will require the ability to use technical knowledge of these tools and, working with the Business Analyst, Team Lead, apply them to SAIT's data structures in order to match business requirements.
Among other support related activities, this role will focus on troubleshooting any issues, documentation, training, support integrated systems reconciliation, and all of this while identifying areas for process improvement and system enhancement.
The Role
- Report Development and Maintenance
- Be main contact for Finance and other departments for overall improvements and enhancements to Finance reports and reporting tools.
- Support the configuration and enhancement of Adaptive, Argos, and Tableau and all other Finance reporting systems to support the goals and processes of the Finance department.
- Gather requirements and test financial reporting for SAIT.
- Work with the Team Lead, Business Analyst to develop strategies for increasing the efficiency and processes of our reporting systems and tools.
- Business systems support
- Support and maintain the Adaptive application and other report systems used by Finance.
- Be the key liaison with key finance and ITS contacts.
- Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with FIN key business owners, Business Analysts in ITS and other Business areas that produce report.
- Research and resolve difficult or technical problems presented by using knowledge of common problems and of department functions.

- Be a catalyst for change within the FIN department for business process and system changes in alignment with current strategic direction.
- Solution complex business challenges based on guidance/direction from Associate Director Business Solutions or from Finance Leadership
- Cover for Team Lead, Business Analyst as required.
- Minimum Required
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in IS or Business
- 3 or more years' experience with creating reports.
- Understanding of reporting systems such as Adaptive, Argos, and/or Tableau
- Preferred
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in IS or Business
- Business Intelligence Certification
- 3 or more years' experience data modelling
- 3 years experience with SQL
- 3 or more years' experience with Workday Adaptive Planning
- Business Intelligence Certification
Salary range: $63,830.00 - $85,654.98
Paid Leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year
Hours Per Week: 37.5
