Reporting to the Manager of Reporting, the Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for evolving a suite of Performance Insights & Management Products. The individual will support the development of business case documents, requirements gathering, presentation material, customer engagement, financial and headcount planning, on building a Performance Management platform that will equip our teams to evolve into a data-driven organization by ensuring everyone is acutely aware of our performance to make rapid high-quality decisions to accelerate learning, improve efficiency, and deliver results.
The successful candidate will demonstrate technical leadership, strive for a consistent and timely deployment of all measurements and analysis, host a predictable review of the results, and act on feedback to improve the measurements, processes, or analysis. This individual will help identify weak processes and work with the affected departments to mitigate inefficient activities. The results of this work should be visible in subsequent measurement periods and lead to improved efficiencies.
The BA will work on initiatives that require deep engagement from multiple groups; the role requires clear communication and an understanding of the needs and motivations of various collaborators. They must understand and actively manage to the culture of the Digital Systems teams; seeking out and capitalizing on team diversity, encouraging team members to play to their strengths, and establishing team standards that make for a focused and effective continual improvement environment.
Responsibilities
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Understand and define the product vision and evaluate various approaches to implement effective solutions
Supervise and lead the writing of concise stories that are easily understood and build a well-groomed backlog
Collaborate with customers to elicit, document and prioritize business requirements for data projects
Conduct interviews, workshops and surveys to understand and analyze user needs
Assist in the preparation of business cases for data initiatives, outlining the potential benefits, costs, and risks
Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards that deliver actionable insights to support decision-making
Maintain up to-date documentation for reference and auditing purposes
Assist in training and technical support of departmental employees
Collaborate with data owners and developers to establish and maintain data quality standards
Implement data validation and cleansing processes to ensure data is accurate and consistent
Monitor data quality metrics and take corrective actions as the need arises
Design, build and maintain new interactive dashboards and assist with requirements gathering and enhancement requests on existing dashboards with other BI developers as needed
Analyze continuously on any system and process bottlenecks and inefficiencies, seeking improvements and solutions
Participate in the creative process of idea generation for project management, planning, implementation, and critical metric tracking
Protect the team from outside noise and pressure
Set and manage expectations and requests from customers for the delivery of new features
Proactively identify and communicate barriers to delivery and negotiate timeline, scope, resources, and budget as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Technology/MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Business or equivalent
2-3 years as a Business Analyst and or equivalent proficiency in strategic planning competencies
Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytics/technology, product marketing, analytics, IT project management
Excellent digital literacy, specifically with Excel, PowerBI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Azure DevOps
Experience in visual analytics/reporting tools i.e. Excel, PowerBI etc.
Strong management and team leadership skills
Proficient with Agile and Scrum methodologies
Understanding of management accounting principles, financial ratios, and budget management techniques
Persuasive change agent with a passion for continual improvement
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully with teams across a variety of disciplines and levels of the organization
Outstanding prioritization and ability to work effectively and autonomously under pressure in a timely manner
Experience developing and tracking key performance indicators, objectives, and key results
Strong analytical and data management skills, and an ability to communicate through multiple modes
Able to maintain a positive attitude when dealing with challenges, conflicting opinions, and delayed timelines
Experience with change management, workflow planning for self, others, and groups
Strong teamwork and ability to build and foster relationships effectively
High tolerance for ambiguity and constantly evolving environments
