Job Summary

The Labour Market Development Programs (LMDP) Branch is comprised of three areas: Community and Employer Programs, Indigenous Programs and Partnerships, and Skills Training and Supports. Together, these three teams are responsible for a range of labour market programs funded through the Canada-BC Workforce Development Agreement (WDA) and StrongerBC: Future Ready Action Plan.
This role will provide financial and administrative support services for the StrongerBC Future Skills Grant for the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. Performs client service delivery for the gathering, clarifying, quality, and completeness checking of submission information to determine eligibility and recommend payment of financial claims. It monitors the intake process and recommends and implements continuous improvements. Provides team with various administrative support services as required.
Job Requirements:
  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience providing client service for the gathering, clarifying, checking quality and completeness of submission information, and recommending reimbursement.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and/or policies.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with basic accounting functions, processing of reimbursement or financial claim forms or accounts payable.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in contract preparation, administration, and management.

Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience with procurement.
  • Experience obtained in a public sector setting environment.
  • Experience in contract preparation, administration, and management.
  • Experience in a program administering agreements with medium-sized budgets ($500k-$1 million).
