Duties
The incumbent, working within a broad marketing framework, will implement strategies to help achieve the College’s strategic marketing goals. Involvement focuses on the following:
- Initiating and supporting activities and advising staff in areas of internal and external communications.
- Enhancing the College’s profile through the establishment of strong communication links with the media, business, industry, agencies, students, the general public and through the development of several communication vehicles.
- Identifying and developing meaningful editorial opportunities aligned to college, academic and departmental priorities, and strategies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a 3-year Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Integrated Marketing Communications, or Digital Marketing.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a marketing/public relations environment. Experience planning/developing communications plans. Project management experience and ability to research/analyze complex information. Experience meeting tight deadlines and working under pressure to complete multiple tasks.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Superior command of the English language and grammar, with demonstrated ability to write clearly and creatively.
- Solid understanding of marketing strategies and communications
- Demonstrated creativity and expertise in the planning and development of advertising and promotional materials using a variety of media (digital, print, radio, video) to produce professional publications, reports, advertisements, video productions, etc.
- Ability to research and analyze complex information.
- Proficiency with a variety of microcomputer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and internet (MS Office Suite, Outlook).
Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:
The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location and work temporarily from a remote location with reliable internet access, as approved by the College and in accordance with the college’s Telework Policy.
