SalaryResponsibilities:
- Reporting to the VP Finance, the Controller will manage all phases of financial reporting, corporate accounting as well as general business strategy & risk management
- Preparation of budgets and financial forecasts including report variances
- Oversee financial controls
- Manage tax reporting and remittances
- Development of monthly financial statements and support of year-end close requirements
- Preparation of regulatory and financial reporting ensuring quality and compliance requirements
- Ongoing oversight and development of internal control policies and procedures
- Management and oversight of billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
- Developing and supervising accounting staff
- Participate in special projects as required
- CPA or CMA designation complimented by an undergraduate degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of full cycle relevant accounting experience, construction experience an asset
- A strategic mindset and comfortable being hands-on and contributing to the day-to-day as necessary
- Positive, adaptable, and resilient with the ability to work well across all levels of the organization
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively consider and address needs and respond to requests promptly
- Demonstrated competency with financial statements, general ledger functions, and month-end and year-end close requirements
- Advanced level MS Excel and MS Word skills with a solid working knowledge of industry-relevant accounting software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and motivation to achieve company targets
- Strong leadership skills are required along with an ability to communicate with various stakeholders and teams throughout the company
