Overview
As a member of the StFX Recruitment team, the Coordinator of Tours and Special Events will work to enhance and promote the profile of StFX and represent the StFX brand, to help in the recruitment effort to increase enrolment. As our on-campus recruiter, it is their responsibility to oversee and continually improve the efficiencies and the service culture of the StFX Visitor Centre, Tours and Special Events.
The Coordinator will have a student centric focus that drives their decision making and guides their overall efforts. In addition, the Coordinator will be committed to the provision of personalized service to students and families. The Coordinator must posses an expert level of knowledge about StFX and the post-secondary landscape in general.
Responsibilities include:
- Management of the Welcome Room which includes the active identification, recommendation, implementation and delivery of best practices to achieve outstanding customer service and ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the Welcome Room
- Management, planning and execution of all aspects of a prospective student (individual and group) campus tour experience including liaison with key stakeholders to promote Campus Tours and manage inquiries
- Collaborate with recruitment and admissions colleagues on an integrated program for tours and Special Events
- Design effective reporting and use key metrics and targets to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement in program
- Plan and execute high quality Special Events in support of recruitment, including guidance counselor initiatives, International recruitment initiatives, Open Houses, Scholarship events and Welcome Day
- Coordinate, train and manage Campus Tour Guides (20-25 student employees) to create an effective customer service culture
- Manage the LiveChat service for the university website. The LiveChat service is an online customer service tool whereby university website users are prompted to seek assistance in their queries
- Develop and maintain effective reporting methods/structures
- On occasion, assist with recruiting activities
Qualifications/Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in marketing, business, hospitality management or related field
- Minimum of two (2) years related experience
- Creative ideas person with exceptional attention to fine details
- Possess excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders is essential
- St. Francis Xavier University graduate preferred
- Bilingualism will be considered an asset
- Non-standard work hours are required, including evenings and weekends
