The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a Coordinator, Marketing Activations


Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Promotions, the Coordinator, Marketing Activations is responsible for the management, day-to-day responsibilities and scheduling of the Activation Team, assisting in theme day and event planning and execution and overseeing promotion and event activation inventory and organization of all storage spaces.


The Coordinator, Marketing Activations will work alongside members of the Fan Experience and Marketing team, assisting in game day activation and giveaways while continuing to elevate and improve our fan experience each season.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assist with the planning, coordination and execution of promotions and events, including but not limited to, Jr. Jays Sundays, promotional giveaways, all Toronto Blue Jays theme days, community events, Blue Jays Baseball Academy, Partnership and Jays Care Foundation events and Rogers Centre concerts.

  • Creatively contribute to the ideation of activations and décor of all Blue Jays promotions and events

  • Assist in managing the planning and execution of promotions and events with back of house and front of house teams such as: Field Operations, Ballpark Set-up, IT, Engineering, Technical Production, Security, Stadium Operations, Merchandise, Fan Services, and Facilities

  • Assist the Supervisor, Activation Team in the training and management of the Activation Team including;

    • Development of training manuals

    • Sourcing of uniforms

    • Scheduling and payment of part-time staff for all baseball and non-baseball related events

  • Monitoring and executing staff recognition programming throughout the season

  • Implementation of mid-season and end-of-season reviews of Activation Team members

  • Assist in monitoring and measurement of service standards to provide a best-in-class fan experience

  • Assist in the management of all storage and inventory of promotional products, promotion and event activations, and event décor both onsite and offsite

  • Work with the Coordinator, Promotions to source and manage promotional prizing for all promotions and events. Create prizing breakouts based on activations and inventory of prizes

  • Manage Blue Jays equipment and marketing materials, ensuring inventory is up to date and identifying necessary repairs in a timely manner

  • Prepare activation and prizing rotation schedules per promotion or event, including equipment lists and activation breakouts

  • Work closely with the Ballpark Operations team to ensure equipment request forms are accurate and setups and teardowns are executed on an event-by-event basis

  • Develop and maintain key vendor relationships leading up to and during Blue Jays promotions and events. Assist with all activation elements including concept creation, ongoing development, delivery, set-up and strike.

  • Work closely with Coordinator, Promotions on event creative needs such as signage and backdrops

  • Create Event Details and Production schedules for each Blue Jays promotional event that are shared internally with the Toronto Blue Jays organization

  • As needed, assist with any on-field aspects of game day entertainment associated with promotions and events. Work collaboratively with the Fan Experience department to ensure all promotions and events are aligned with Toronto Blue Jays brand

  • Assist with day-to-day marketing and fan experience needs

  • Conduct annual research into other teams and venues for best practices in baseball and event staffing experiences

  • Contribute to creating and maintaining a collaborative culture across internal departments and game day teams


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Post-secondary education preferred in Marketing, Events, or Sport Management

  • 1-3 years past work experience in Promotions, Marketing, Events and Live Entertainment preferred

  • Team oriented and ability to collaborate across many internal departments

  • Strong leadership capabilities to motivate and encourage team members, previous experience motivating a team while building relationships an asset

  • Strong communicator who can listen and constructively share opinions and feedback

  • Knowledge of the game of baseball and the Blue Jays is a necessity

  • Athletic, energetic and motivated

  • Must be able to sustain long physical days

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, creativity and communication skills required

  • Experience in customer service an asset

  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, team environment

  • Previous experience working with vendors and coordinating projects

  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple priorities and perform well under pressure

  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be available to work all Toronto Blue Jays home games, Rogers Centre concerts and other events where required
