The Ministry of Health, Health Programs and Delivery Division is seeking a dynamic individual for the role of a Coordinator, Workforce Development and Logistics. This role serves as the focal point of contact within the Claims Services Branch, within the Business Integration Services unit.
We are looking for someone that is enthusiastic about building relationships and can coordinate core operational structures in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Establish the strategic direction and provincial priorities for the health care system;
• Develop legislation, regulations, standards, policies, and directives to support strategic directions;
• Monitor and report on the performance of the health care system and the health of Ontarians;
• Plan for and establish funding models and funding levels for the health care system; and
• Manage key provincial programs, including the Ontario Health Insurance Program, Assistive Devices Program, Drug Programs, Emergency Health Services, Independent Health Facilities, and Laboratory Services.

The Division:
The Health Programs and Delivery Division provides oversight of Ontario's health insurance plan (OHIP), public drug programs, assistive devices program, blood programs, laboratories, and diagnostic services. The division ensures operational excellence and cost-effectiveness through increased digitization, evidence-based reviews, and programmatic audits. It also collaborates with federal, provincial, and territorial partners to advance shared priorities such as COVID and non-COVID drug shortages, and the national blood program administered through Canadian Blood Services.

What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role you will:- Support the Director and Senior Management Team in controllership activity related to Human Capital resource requests, and in branch wide initiatives
- Provide information and statistics on such initiatives as branch modernization, business transformation, internal re-organization, succession planning and talent management, employee engagement, and attraction of new diverse resources to the Ontario Public Service (OPS);
- Support the strategic direction of the branch by coordinating staff development and training, health and wellness activities
- Provide logistical reporting for analysis and planning, tracking, forecasting and position administration

Planning and Coordination Skills:
You can:- Promote effective human resources management and staff development practices
- Endorse, promote and contribute to the maintenance of a positive labor relations environment
- Act as liaison between managers, and the Regional Recruitment Centre, Strategic Business Unit, Centre for Employee Health, Safety and Wellness, Ontario Shared Services and WIN Analysts
- Participate in/take a leadership role in various divisional, branch and local Committees, special projects, committees, fundraisers, training initiatives, etc.
Communication and Consultation Skills:
You can:- Provide consultation and advice to management and staff
- Initiate/implement ongoing communication strategies to inform staff and management of opportunities and programs, changing needs/directions
- Deliver training sessions to internal staff and management
- Build partnerships/relationships with colleagues/counterparts in other branch locations, other ministries, external consultants, and learning organizations
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
You can:- Analyze workforce data, predict trends, suggest options and make recommendation to management
- Determine methods of brokering training for staff in order to make recommendation on the most appropriate, timely and cost effective methods to management
- Research information for ad hoc reports by determining appropriate methods and sources
- Review and analyze issues received from Managers and staff to determine possible course of action
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
You can:- Oversee cost effective and timely implementation and evaluation of training for staff and management
- Support the coordination of training and tracking across the branch
- Coordinate and expedite recruitment processes by liaising with Regional Recruitment Centres
- Coordinate summer employment recruitment activities
- Support Ministry/Division/Branch strategies and sound business practices by contributing to research and development of strong, consistent controllership and risk management practices
