Main Purpose of Job:
The job holder will report to the Network Finance Manager and equally connect to the Regional Corporate Services Hub in Mexico. The holder will work closely to support colleagues in the British High Commission in Ottawa and colleagues across the network of 4 other Consulate Generals in Canada. The job holder will also provide support to other areas of the Corporate Services team as needed.
- To work with the Finance Team in order to ensure that the network continues to remain compliant in the areas of payroll, benefits, pensions and invoice payments.
- To provide resilience and coverage for the Finance Manager, whose role includes budgets, forecasting, payroll, DB/DC pensions, benefits and accounts payable/receivables.
- To monitor and maintain the Finance pages of the Canada Network Teams site.
- Point of contact for Payroll/Helathcare queries.
- To provide PAG’s department on FCDO platform with monthly report and answer any queries.
- To liaise with ONE HMG completing the Cost Cards for Partners Across Government (PAGs) coming on Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) platform.
- To provide Consul Generals and budget holders with monthly spend reports.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To support the administration of Payroll and Benefits for the Canada Network,
- To work closely with the Finance Team and provide cover for Accounts Officer.
- To deputise for Finance Manager when on leave and, as needed, throughout the year.
- To work with budget holders and PAG’s on monthly reporting and enquires.
- To work with ONE HMG throughout the year to complate Costs Cards and take enquires from PAG’s on FCDO platform.
- To support Finance Manager throughout the year with reporting for the Hub and UK.
- Proven occupational experience of the administration of large scale Payroll systems.
- Relevant background in and knowledge of Finance
- Strong interpersonal skills and to be capable of interacting effectively with all levels of management.
- The ability to write clear concise reports, to make effective presentations to a variety of audiences and to communicate best practices in a positive way.
- To work effectively and flexibly with others and be a team player.
- Be reliable, positive, and open to new ways of working.
- Capable of interacting effectively with all levels of management.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
- Degree qualification in a related subject
