The Opportunity:

As a Finance Analyst with a focus on hog production costing, you will have an opportunity to step into an exciting role that works with a high-performance finance team and partners closely with all levels of the business. This position is responsible for standard costing analysis, financial reporting, and the development of and effective analysis of hog production financial and KPI metrics. This position is also responsible for executing standard control processes. Working with a team of supportive and encouraging peers, our work crosses functional units within the business and allows you to see all aspects of Maple Leaf Agri Farms' operations and to interact with people at various levels throughout the organization.

Some of the exciting things you will be responsible for:

• Maintains standard costing system and calculate operational variances from standard on a weekly and monthly basis [Responsible for the development and on-going maintenance of standard costs and shop floor work order system]
• Investigates variances, determine root causes, analyze production trends, and recommend actions to minimize/improve
• Participates in period end and budgeting activities
• Provides recommendations for the development and implementation of improvements to variance reporting process and procedures
• Provides clear, concise financial analysis with respect to all Maple Leaf Agri Farms supported farm performance
• Prepares appropriate reports utilizing computerized accounting package and/or manual procedures
• Ensures compliance with Maple Leaf reporting and financial analysis processes and execute testing as required
• Continuous improvement projects and other projects, as assigned

What you will bring: Technical must haves include:

• Post-Secondary Education in a finance/business related program (or a relevant combination of education and experience) is required
• Self-motivated with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving, analytical, time management, and organizational skills
• Knowledge of SAP and experience in hog production or manufacturing are assets
