JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Quality SupervisorDepartment: Quality
Reports to: Quality Manager
Hours: 7am – 4pm Monday – Friday Location: North/South Building
JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Supervisor achieves quality targets by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing ECL systems, policies, procedures in accordance with applicable legislation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise QA technicians.
- Be responsible for monitoring the performance of QA Tech team. (QA Tech by Leader standard work (LSW)).
- Develop, implement, and follow up QA Tech training interacting with training department.
- Review the daily success of the quality tool program inspection. (Interacting with master schedule, tool and die).
- Responsible to coordinate parts inspection priorities. (Interacting with master schedule & production).
- Attend the daily tactical operational production and sales (TOPs) meeting.
- Internal Quality Management System auditor. (Member team of QMS internal auditors).
- Support to quality management system coordinator/document control
- PPAPs (PFMEA, QCP, FAI, etc)
- Audit verification between QCPs, drawings, history cards for existing parts (annual calendar by operation)
- Ensures safe use of equipment and schedules regular maintenance with Maintenance Dept.
- Works hand in hand with Production and Engineering Depts. to troubleshoot issues on the floor.
- Problem solving lead (using proper quality tools)
- Attends Supervisor meetings weekly.
- Conducts employee performance appraisals.
- Completes and maintains employee orientation, training, and performance appraisal records.
- Investigates employee complaints and concerns.
- Resolves employee issues and brings to the attention of the Quality Manager and HR if necessary.
- Observes employee performance/behavior and rewards/disciplines when necessary.
- Approves/declines vacation requests.
- Approves/declines employee absenteeism forms.
- Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must possess a grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in Supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance position
- Able to coordinate, manage and evaluate a quality shift
- Experience with Problem-Solving tools
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001
- Experience performing quality-related inspections and/or audits
- Experience with document control procedures
- Understanding of VDA quality standards is an asset
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Significant use of memory
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must possess basic math skills
- Possess basic level computer skills
- Able to input data into reporting system
- Able to interpret and develop Excel spread sheets
- Able to develop Word documents and use the Internet and Microsoft Outlook
- Able to manage confidential information
