POSITION: Customer Service Specialist & Sales Assistant
REPORTS TO: General Manager – Sales & Marketing
Position Summary:
Our company is seeking a well-organized individual who is passionate about pets and who thrives in a position that will vary in responsibilities. The position will require a person who can shift between roles as they support our General Manager of Sales and Marketing in the continual development of our brand.
Working independently and in a team environment, the Customer Service specialist is responsible for supporting customers by phone, email, and through our social media accounts. In addition to customer support, this role will require various administrative responsibilities and the management and coordination of sales materials.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Customer Service
- Manage customer phone calls.
- Manage customer web correspondence by email and through our various social networks.
- Manage customer needs for our e-commerce platform.
Administration
- Order and supply ongoing point-of-sale materials to the sales team and distribution partners.
- Sign up for tradeshows and events and coordinate all event needs.
- Assist in the preparation of sales documents including YTD performance spreadsheets.
- Act as a first reviewer of monthly sales team travel expenses.
- Act as a first reviewer of weekly sales team call logs.
- Continually update the website store locator.
Marketing
- The scheduling of social media content is provided by the marketing manager.
- Assist in proofing marketing materials and packaging for accuracy.
- Assist with the development of advertising media including social, print and video materials.
- Assist in maintaining our blog.
- Assist in ongoing project communications with our outside creative company.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in a marketing or business-related program and/or previous experience working in a marketing support role.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Friendly and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work well within a team and independently.
- A passion for Pets.
- Bonus: Design skills, including Basecamp, Photoshop, and InDesign, are desirable.
- Bonus: Experience using Hootsuite, Later and Mailchimp or other content management systems desirable.
Working Environment:
This position is based out of our head office in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The working environment may change with the needs of the week or day.
Supervisory Responsibility:

Salary: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
