Wage employees receive 11.2% in addition to regular wage earnings in lieu of paid holidays and vacation leave:

  • 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
  • 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay

Shift differential and opportunity to work overtime, evening, and weekend shifts.

Role Responsibilities

Are you meticulous, organized, and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment? If so, consider joining our team as a Wildfire Data Entry professional in this exciting seasonal position based out of the Provincial Warehouse and Service Center. As a crucial component in administration support, your primary functions are to ensure the accurate, consistent, and timely entry of information into various Wildfire databases.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely entry of information into various Wildfire databases.
  • Review, correct, and enter seasonal and permanent time sheets with precision.
  • Collaborate with Admin and Finance Staff to streamline tasks and enhance efficiency.
  • Compile and send comprehensive wage time reports as required.
  • Actively communicate and ensure supervisors are promptly informed of any problems or issues.
  • Filing duties when necessary to maintain organized records.
  • Attending and successfully completing necessary training courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Provide essential administration support to the Management Area office as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma plus one (1) year of related experience.



Directly related experience or education may be considered on the basis of:

  • one year of experience for one year of education or
  • one year of education for one year of experience


Asset:

  • Experience with or knowledge of the forestry sector is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).


Additional Requirements:

  • Proficient computer skills, encompassing keyboarding, data record management, and demonstrated organizational experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older prior to start date.

The following conditions are not required at time of application, but must be provided prior to start date:

  • A valid, unrestricted Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License, or equivalent
  • A minimum 3-year Driver's Abstract, showing a record of seven (7) demerits or less (obtained within 30 days of your commencement date and presented to management prior to commencement)
  • A valid Standard First Aid certificate with CPR certification
  • A current Defensive Driving certificate

This competition is recruiting seasonal wage Wildfire Data Entry positions for all Alberta Forest Areas, with weekly hours up to 36.25.

This is a temporary position expected to end on or before October 31, 2024.
