Part Time Direct Support Professional

Community Living Belleville and Area is an accredited non-profit organization that has provided a range of services and supports to adults and children with intellectual disabilities for over 70 years, and we are looking to expand our team!
You will support participants with intellectual disabilities participate in learning and building upon the skills they will need in order to successfully transition from their family home to supported independent living.
As a part time employee you will engage, support, and encourage participants who are working towards their goals of living independently. Community Living Belleville and Area in partnership with the Family Action Committee promote an inclusive lifestyle focusing on the rights and responsibilities of each participant and how they choose to be a citizen in the community, and foster independence to the best of one's ability. Support staff will follow the guidelines set forth for each participant by the Coordinator, Child and Family Services, and will be able to support and foster guidance without interfering with the participants' ability to be self-sufficient.
Requirements: Successful completion of the Developmental Services Worker, Early Childhood Educator, Social Service Worker, Child & Youth Worker, Community Services & Justice Worker, Behavioral Science Technologist, or other college diploma and/or university degree applicable to the specific position.
Two (2) years of relevant experience.
A personal philosophy in human services that is consistent with the mission, vision, goals, and values of Community Living Belleville and Area.
Successful candidates will demonstrate: flexibility, service orientation and self-control.
Current C.P.R and First Aid certification.
Valid G level Driver’s License and clean driver's abstract
CRC/VSS dated within the last 6 months.
COVID 19 vaccination (2 doses)
Must demonstrate initiative, maturity, good physical condition, and a want to advocate for others. Must be able to work all shifts and weekends.
