Direct Support Professional-Transitional Youth

We are currently recruiting for eight Full-Time at our Transitional Housing Experience Supported Living locations.

This position requires the successful applicant to have high energy, the ability to work flexible hours and carry out all primary responsibilities in a Supported Living environment.

The applicant must remain current with all mandatory training requirements as set out by the employer and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.

Candidates must have experience with Youth in transition, Developmental Disabilities, Dual Diagnosis, Intimate knowledge of Indigenous Culture, Mental Health, Behavior Interventions, court diversion, and addictions. Training in Mental Health First Aid, NVCI and ASSIST is preferred. You must possess a 2-year diploma as minimum in the following:

DSW, CYW, CJW. SSW or other equivalent.

Details of the position include but are not limited to:

Ø Support with Court and Court Diversion

Ø Referrals to appropriate services CMHA, AA

Ø Networking with Indigenous Communities

Ø Creating Independent Support Plans, PIO, Safety Plans

Ø Looking at Inter and Intrapersonal Skills

Ø Gain confidence in navigating their community.

The start date is projected for May 4th 2024 or earlier. The successful candidates must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, continental or MAD rotation. Hours will be flexible.
