(Permanent Position)
DUTIES
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Facilities, the Director, Finance and Administrative Services, has specific responsibility for administrative leadership in Facilities Management including the functional areas of Finance And budgeting; human resources; materials and contract management; information technology; and risk management. The successful candidate plays a key role as a member of the Facilities Management senior leadership team, providing direct support to the Associate Vice President (Facilities), the Director of Operations and Maintenance, the Director of Engineering and Construction, and the broader management group within the department. The duties include providing strategic direction for administration and operations; leading a team of Finance And administration, human resources, and materials and contract management staff; overseeing, planning, organizing and facilitating a variety of administrative operations, including accounting and financial operations, budget planning, and preparation/monitoring; administrating and monitoring funds including formal financial reviews; conducting administrative planning for operational/project requirements and an analysis of fiscal information/statistics to identify trends; overseeing human resource management activities including employee and labour relations, staff training and development, attendance and accommodation management; undertaking service/quality initiatives; overseeing materials, service contracts, and fleet management; developing, interpreting, and applying University policies and procedures; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Administrative experience (8-10 years) in progressively responsible roles, including experience in accounting, finance, human resources, and/or operations management; supplemented by a degree in business administration or related field. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of modern administration and best practices; a proven record of respected accomplishments in a complex environment; a leadership and management style that is effective in a collegial and collaborative environment; superior verbal and written communication skills; advanced skills in analyzing/interpreting information; and skills in negotiation and dispute resolution. A professional accounting designation is required.
SALARY $94,357 - $124,155 per annum (Leadership Group)
