Summary
Metro’s focus on end-to-end Supply Chain transformation has created an immediate employment opportunity for a director of Supply Chain Optimization. This role will involve the development and execution of best-in-class Supply Chain and replenishment processes, practices and systems. We are looking for a senior practitioner with specific grocery retail experience and a proven ability to deliver significant and sustainable results in a multi-billion dollar organization. This individual will lead the automated replenishment and demand planning teams within both Ontario and Quebec provinces.
Specific Responsibilities
- Lead an end-to-end Supply Chain replenishment transformation initiative focused on evaluating current state, identifying future state and creating a roadmap for change; taking into consideration organizational and technological levels of readiness.
- Drive cross-functional projects to optimize the current state in preparation for future state technology adoption including forecasting and replenishment processes, inventory and stocking strategies, IT enabling technologies.
- Participate in strategic Supply Chain assessments, including merchandising, replenishment, transportation, logistics, procurement and IT.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant technologies and industry best practices, and comparatively analyzing the effectiveness of Metro’s current and future end-to-end Supply Chain processes and practices.
- Develop logistics metrics, internal analysis tools, and performance indicators for internal teams.
- Identify ways to reduce costs and improve service across the end-to-end Supply Chain.
- Engage and work alongside key stakeholders to gain input and buy-in to strategy development and to influence and execute project action plans.
- Establish credibility with key stakeholders including IT, Merchandising, Central Procurement and Store Operations by demonstrating extensive expertise and knowledge in end-to-end Supply Chain.
- Lead engagement teams in the execution of key project deliverables on time and on budget.
- Manage the automated replenishment and demand planning teams within the Ontario and Quebec division
- Perform role of a project and career coach
- Coach and develop team members to create a high performing team environment
- Develop and deliver training and share knowledge across Metro
- The ability and willingness to travel one to two days monthly between Montreal and Toronto
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business (MBA preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of Supply Chain replenishment experience including technology implementation experience
- In-depth understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain processes and associated value drivers and frameworks
- Knowledge in business process improvement techniques, including Lean
- Exceptional project and change management skills
- Implementation experience with Supply Chain and Replenishment processes in major ERP environments (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and/or industry leading forecasting and replenishment systems (e.g. JDA, SAP, Oracle.)
- Bilingual French & English preferred but not essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
