Job Summary
Two Trees Child Care Centre is a Ministry of Education licensed day care and we provide quality care and education to children within Newmarket, Bradford, Keswick, Sharon and Aurora community. Our nurturing environment fosters a child’s natural curiosity and promotes independence so that they may successfully reach their developmental goals. At our Centre we encourage children to construct their knowledge and enhance their development through play-based learning.
We are currently looking for experienced ECA's to join our fantastic and growing team!!
Responsibilities:
- Implementing and providing daily feedback and observations relating to the curriculum established by the ECE leader
- Facilitating daily indoor and outdoor activities to enhance language, motor skills, independence and problem-solving through music, science, art, dramatic play, etc.
- Establishing positive interactions and rapport while guiding the children in all areas of development in accordance with the program philosophy
- Assisting to ensure overall health and safety of the children enrolled in the program
- Adapting and maintaining an environment which appreciates and respects the diverse individual and group needs of the children and their families
- Supporting and communicating with parents, colleagues and Supervisor
- Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms and outdoor playground, doing laundry of kids bedding
- any other duties as needed
Qualifications/Experience
- Post secondary diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six months’ experience working with young children
- Experience working with special needs children an asset
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
- Excellent written communication skills
- Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
- All staff working with children are required under the Child Care and Early Year’s Act to have a valid standard first aid certification including infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR level C) prior to the first day of work or within the first three months- RECEIPT MUST BE SHOWN
- A capacity to work within a team and be part of a large multi-service, charitable Association
- Clear Police Record Check with vulnerable sector and a clear 2 step TB test will be needed once offered a position
