Key responsibilities:
Develop educational materials to be used for workshops, courses, information sessions, and other educational offerings.
Promote educational opportunities through a variety of means to local, provincial, national, and global organizations that serve parents and caregivers, educators, non-profits, community groups and small businesses, government, and policymakers.
Develop and support registration processes for workshops, courses, information sessions, and other educational offerings.
Facilitate workshops, presentations, information sessions, and other educational offerings (both in person and online).
Evaluate workshops, presentations, information sessions, and other educational offerings (both in person and online) using a variety of tools and including multiple perspectives.
Contribute information and resources to support ongoing revisions and updates to courses, workshops, information sessions, and other educational offerings.
Support outreach initiatives with local and global organizations to increase awareness and understanding about the Child Honouring philosophy.
Train and support workshop and other educational facilitators.
Plan and participate in organizational activities and special events, including Earth Day, Child Honouring Day, National Children’s Day, early years and other relevant conferences.
Attend all staff meetings.
Meet with the Executive Director regularly to discuss and evaluate progress.
Ensure all services are delivered in a professional, culturally relevant, and respectful manner.
Carry out other related tasks and projects as required.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in education, early childhood education, child psychology, family studies, environmental science, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Two or more years of experience in developing and facilitating presentations and/or workshops, preferably both in person and online.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and excellent writing skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support effective teamwork and collaboration.
Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and be self-directed.
Successful completion of the 18-hour online Child Honouring course offered through the Raffi Foundation (preferred).
Work will begin on March 1, 2024 (or soon after) and end on August 31, 2024, with the opportunity to be reviewed and/or extended at that time.
$40/hour for up to 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Some evenings and Saturdays may be required to accommodate workshops along with special meetings and events. May increase to full-time depending on organizational needs.
This job can be done remotely but will require travel from time to time.
