Department Overview

The Event Planning team conceptualizes, plans, manages and executes all kinds of events of the bank. The team is responsible for coordinating every detail of these events within the allocated budget and in compliance with the guidelines. We are seeking brand champions who have significant communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills for coordinating with internal and external business partners, vendors, and suppliers. Job Details

This position reports to the Senior Manager, External Events, and responsibilities include:

  • Support a portfolio of high-profile events for Canadian Personal Banking and Specialized Sales Forces (i.e. Webcasts, In-person Events and tradeshows)
  • Work closely with the Senior Events Planner to ensure consistency of communication across projects/events
  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate
  • Manage vendor and internal relationships as required and deal with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Manage time efficiently in a multi-tasked environment and ensure deadlines are met
  • Apply appropriate due diligence ensuring accuracy in preparing and promptly completing all required supporting documentation (i.e. reports, presentations, invoices, correspondence/communications, tables, charts, files etc.)
  • Schedule and organize meetings, including preparation and co-ordination by booking the facility, pre-mail, arranging required equipment, conference calls, minutes, etc.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to increase efficiencies and improve the employee experiences
  • Work closely with the Channels and Regions to ensure priorities and perspectives are considered when developing the overall approach
  • Maintain proficiency with software applications/programs and/or department specific systems (i.e. MS Team, Webex Meetings/Events, MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Efficiently manage and promptly respond to all incoming enquiries/requests for information independently or re-direct to the appropriate person/area
  • Enhance employee engagement by creating, updating and maintaining relevant content on our Connections page & BWeb throughout the year
  • Travel outside of the country is required for this position throughout the year

Job Requirements

  • Proven skills and abilities in the following areas are a must:
  • Knowledge and/or experience in program management is an asset
  • Experience in Retail Banking as well as Corporate Office is an asset
  • Superior knowledge of MS Teams, WebEx Meetings/Events, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving, negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Ability to develop, maintain and build positive relationships with partners while demonstrating tact and diplomacy to impact and influence at all levels of the organization
  • High degree of professionalism to be able to interact with senior executives
  • Ability to remain resilient during high stress situations
  • Must have valid passport to be able to travel outside of Canada
