Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Farm Manager to lead an orchard in Qualicum Beach, Canada. This individual will be assigned a farming site and with the support of our team, will be responsible for various products planted in that area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the crops, overseeing crews, ensuring optimal production, and contributing to the growth of our business. This exciting opportunity allows you to work alongside expert growers, at the forefront of fruit production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage production, ensuring high-quality crop yields.
2. Collaborate with Consultants to ensure plants receive the best care.
3. Lead and manage crews, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve production goals.
4. Development of new effective crop management strategies to optimize production, including irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting.
5. Work closely with the team to align production and marketing strategies, ensuring successful fruit distribution.
6. Monitor orchard health and performance, conducting regular assessments and implementing corrective measures as needed.
7. Maintain compliance with agricultural regulations, safety standards, and environmental practices.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
· Very good written and spoken English.
· Previous experience in orchard management and berry cultivation experience is an asset.
· Strong knowledge of modern agricultural practices.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
· Passion for fruit production and a desire to innovate and drive business growth.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
