Financial Controller (Contract)

Your New Role and Team
Sanctuary AI-a multi award-winning LinkedIn Top Startup company-is seeking a Financial Controller for a 15-month contract. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will partner with senior leaders to grow the business and develop and implement Sanctuary AI's financial strategy. The Controller will report on Sanctuary AI's financial objectives and key results while closely monitoring the company's finances and ensuring that robust internal controls are in place.
Our Success Criteria

• Oversee monthly close, accounts payable and receivable, and prepare internal and external financial statement
• Coordinate activities of external auditors
• Manage the accounting, reporting, and productivity of assets and liabilities including management of cash and lending transactions
• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Assist with execution of debt and equity financing
• Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
• Process payroll, maintain headcount data, and advise on the financial impact of HR decisions
• Oversee the Scientific Research and Experimental Development tax incentive program timesheets and filings process
• Assess current finance/accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
• Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls
• Develop and monitor business performance metrics
Your Experience
Qualifications
• 10+ plus years of financial accounting, reporting, and management experience
• CPA designationKnowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and ASPE
• Experience with ERP software solutions and transitions
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with cross functional team project management
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
• Ability to analyze and problem solve complex operational challenges

Entry-rate Hourly Wage: $60 CAD and up
Compensation:
At Sanctuary AI, we provide above average total compensation that includes three components: salary, equity, and benefits. Our goal is to ensure fairness in pay and we strive to make the overall package highly competitive with current market rates.
Equity:
Equity will play a significant role in the total compensation for this role. Our goal is to provide a generous equity compensation package, exceeding what is typically offered by companies of our size. The specific amount of equity will be communicated to candidates upon receiving an offer.

The compensation and benefits details provided for this role in Vancouver, BC are based on Sanctuary AI's market evaluation and may be subject to changes in the future. Your pay within the specified range will depend on various job-related factors, such as your past work experience, relevant education, and performance during interviews or work trials. Salary minimum provided is an entry-level rate for this role, as a requirement of the Pay Transparency Act in British Columbia.
