Financial Controller

Elk River Mountain Homes is looking for a trustworthy and ambitious accounting professional to join their small team.

The Financial Controller reports directly to the Owner and works closely with colleagues in all departments to support management of the company in project accounting and financial operations.

As Financial Controller you will:

• Work closely with Project Managers to monitor actual and budgeted revenues and expenses of all jobs
• Prepare financial reports, including financial statements, budgets and cash flow projections
• Manage the company general ledger, monthly closing process and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and ongoing reports
• Process full cycle bi-weekly payroll
• Process monthly government reports and remittances
• Provide supervision and support for the Accounting Administrator

To be Successful at Elk River Mountain Homes, you will have the following qualifications and experience:

• 2-5 years experience in accounting with preference for construction accounting background
• Knowledge of GST/PST regulations in multiple provinces, including exemptions and self-assessment
• Proficient with QuickBooks and Buildertrend
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong ability to organize tasks and work within defined timelines
• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to details
