Your opportunity:
The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges at the University of Toronto, concerning virtually all matters relating to Arts and Science students. Our department members are dedicated to aid all students to the greatest extent, to make their university experience as smooth and seamless as possible. We coordinate personal, financial,academic counselling, registration and enrolment, student records, transfer credit, petitions, finalexaminations, and graduation.
Reporting to the Associate Faculty Registrar & Director, Operations & Project Management, the incumbent will act as the first point of contact for payroll related enquiries for student employees, collect relevant documentation and ensures the accurate and timely processing of payroll and HRIS transactions. The incumber will also support student employee payroll and expense reimbursement processing and customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Acting as the first point of contact for payroll related enquiries
-Applying the generally accepted accounting principles to financial tasks
-Troubleshooting and resolving payroll discrepancies
-Reconciling payroll distribution
-Generating standard financial reports
-Collecting supporting documentation required for payroll and/or HRIS processing
-Verifying the accuracy and completeness of documents
-Checking that proper approvals are obtained prior to processing transactions
Essential Qualifications:
-Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
-Minimum three years of recent and related experience processing payroll, accounting and a variety of financial transactions experience.
-Experience with SAP based systems (e.g. FIS and HRIS)
-Experience applying University's financial and HR rules, guidelines and procedures, as well as accounting principles.
-Advanced skills with MS Office and database management
-Excellent written and verbal communications skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills with a superior customer service orientation and ability to deal tactfully
-Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records and information system

-This is a term position until December 2024.
-This position is 50%FTE.
This role is currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline.
