Food Runner

Summary

The Food Runner, under the direction of the Restaurant Manager, will primarily be responsible for delivering food to the restaurant's customers. This individual is responsible for ensuring that the food being delivered to the customer is at the correct temperature, is neat and presentable, and has nothing missing from either the plate or the overall order. They will also fetch condiments, utensils, and other items upon request. The Food Runner must always perform their duties in a friendly and professional manner with a focus on providing an excellent customer experience to ensure that the customers have an enjoyable dining experience.

Job Duties

• Place food servings on plates or trays according to orders or instructions.
• Examine trays to ensure that they contain all required items.
• Load trays with accessories such as eating utensils, napkins, or condiments.
• Deliver prepared food to customers, ensuring the entire table's food arrives at the same time.
• Monitor food distribution, ensuring that meals have been prepared as per the customer's specification and is delivered to the correct recipients.
• Return meals to the kitchen when a customer requires a change to the food and return food to customer after the necessary corrections have been made.
• Fill water glasses and refillable drinks.
• Assist with the clearing and cleaning of tables.
• Remove trays and stack dishes for return to kitchen after meals are finished.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of the restaurant.
• Stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins, or straws.
• Help the wait staff and kitchen staff as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of high school diploma or GED, or currently in progress.
• One year of experience as a Food Runner, or in a similar capacity.
• Strong customer service skills.
• High flexibility and adaptability skills
• Ability to work in a high paced environment and to complete multiple tasks at one time.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
