Food Service Worker - Cashier

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Food Service Worker to join our team at our high school cafeteria.
Effective Date: January 2024
Duration: Until June 30, 2024
Hours: Weekly 40 hours, up to 44 hours
Salary: Fixed salary of $2,650 monthly payable every 2 weeks (biweekly) including school closures, vacation, etc.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a School Cafeteria Food Service Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students and staff while assisting with food preparation, serving, and cashier duties. The ideal candidate will have previous Food Service experience and a passion for working in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist students and staff in a friendly and courteous manner
• Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organized cafeteria and dining area
• Assist in preparing and serving food items according to menu and portion control standards
• Ensure all food items are fresh and properly labeled
• Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines
• Stock and replenish food items and supplies as needed
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
• Other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or Cafeteria Supervisor

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a Food Service or cashier role
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Knowledge of proper food handling and safety procedures
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift to 25 pounds
• Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional evenings
