Required Hours:

Tuesday: 10 AM - 6 PM
Wednesday: 10 AM - 3 PM
Thursday : 10 AM - 6 PM
Friday: 10 AM - 6 PM
Saturday : 9:30 AM - 6 PM

You may be called upon to work additional hours during the week.

Salon Host responsibilities include:

  • Warmly greeting guests, walking them to the proper station and alerting assigned stylists of their arrival
  • Booking and confirming appointments via phone and email
  • Processing transactions (cash and credit cards) and issuing receipts

Job brief

We are looking for a Salon Host to act as the first point of contact for guests who visit our salon or contact us to learn about our services.

Salon Host responsibilities include greeting guests upon their arrival, answering guests questions about services via phone, email or in person and processing transactions. To be successful in this role, you should be highly organized and able to manage guests with grace, even during peak demand.

Ultimately, you will help boost our reputation by building friendly, trusting relationships with guests.

Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests, walk them to the proper beauty station and inform assigned professionals of their arrival
  • Book and confirm appointments via phone and email
  • Process transactions (cash and credit cards) and issue receipts
  • Welcome walk-ins, answer questions about services and schedule appointments based on availability
  • Inform guests about new services and discounts
  • Cross-sell services and products when appropriate
  • Update guest records with contact details, appointments and services offered
  • Manage all calls
  • Maintain a tidy reception area
  • Order business cards, and stationery as needed

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Salon Receptionist, Front Desk Representative or similar role
  • Ability to write and speak both French and English
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment, like printers and POS systems
  • Familiarity with processing transactions
  • Excellent communication abilities (verbal, phone and email) with a customer service attitude
  • Solid organization and record-keeping skills
  • Self-starter with clear commitment to personal growth including participation in on-going education.
  • Professional presentation and commitment to personal grooming consistent with vision of the Salon and our guests.
  • Ability to train others
  • An ability to remain calm under stressful circumstances
  • Successful demonstration of computer skills including typing and following of instructions.
  • High School diploma
