The incumbent also develops new non-traditional rental opportunities through innovative initiatives like Home Share, Places for Students, Spaces Shared, Sparrow or similar.
Algonquin staff, and property owners and provides support for students that find themselves in need when navigating difficult rental arrangements or are without housing unexpectedly.
The incumbent works in partnership with the AC Day 1 Planning Committee to provide information and resources to student’s pre arrival, highlighting local resources, reputable housing options, tenant rights, safety tips and how to avoid frauds.
- Minimum of a three (3) year diploma/degree: Sociology, Behavioral sciences, social sciences, education or equivalent
- Combination of three (3) years experience: Demonstrated experience in a post-secondary residence life and/or community housing setting. Experience developing and delivering housing related programs/workshops for domestic and international students. As well, as experience with risk management in a post-secondary housing environment.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to adhere to strict timelines and deadlines;
- Superior communication and organizational skills, both written and oral;
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail;
- Proven ability to prioritize activities within a cross-college team environment;
- Strong presentation skills
- Advanced proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
