General Manager – Business Services

Agri-Tel Grain Ltd. is a Grain Merchandising and Bird Food Processing company. It is a diversified processing, packaging, and merchandising company. We are licensed and bonded by the Canadian Grain Commission. Our background is deeply planted in agriculture and dates to our roots in Canadian Prairies since 1898. Agri Tel Grain Ltd has two distinct lines of business, both complementing each other. One being Formed Bird Food Products and other the Grain Merchandising.

Purpose of the Job

Role of a dedicated General Manager – Business Services will be to oversee complete business operations.

1. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities will be but not limited to:

· Determine the strategic direction and formulate the vision of the business and make operational policies accordingly.

· Define the roles and responsibilities of the team; ensure that the organization functions and production functions are smooth including the human resources, finance, accounting, sale and marketing.

· Analyze market dynamics, market share changes, product line performance, and competitive intelligence.

· Identify strategic partnership opportunities and identify strategic risks.

· Collaborate with leadership, special committees, and consultants to execute strategies.

· Communicate strategy effectively throughout the company.

· Ensure suitable metrics are in place to measure performance and progress and monitor execution of business initiatives.

· Redesign the financial management and administration procedures that will enhance the revenue and profitability of the company.

· Increase the efficiency of staff and team members by developing training and mentoring schedules; identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for the performance assessments.

· Develop a 3-year financial management strategy including negotiation, financial reporting internally and externally, and budget management.

· Responsible for financial management, new business feasibility analysis and planning for the organization.

· Coordinate annual organization level audits.

2. Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field

· More than 10 years of experience in senior management role

· Experience dealing with clients and working as a team lead

· Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

· Excellent command on English language, reading, writing, and speaking

· Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multitask, prioritize, and work within tight deadlines

· Able to build rapport, excellent time and project management skills

· Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work in multicultural work environment

3. Working Conditions

• The General Manager – Business Services of the company will be working full time for minimum 37.5 hours a week,
• May be required to work some overtime hours to attend meetings during specific periods as per business needs.
• Will report directly to the Director
