- Demonstrate knowledge, interest and leadership in promoting and actualizing Health Records initiatives related to Electronic Patient Records.
- Process and maintain accurate, complete and concise Health Records documentation in a centralized system of record keeping.
- Work with a team of Health Record professionals to ensure that information is promptly available for patient care and also arrange completion of other assigned duties in a timely manner.
- Respond in a pleasant and professional manner to visitors and hospital professionals seeking assistance in Health Records.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of all health information in accordance with the ethical and legal requirements of the institution
- Demonstrates QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation, respect
- Minimum Grade 12 education
- Medical Office Administration Course or equivalent is preferred
- Must have medical terminology
- Minimum Typing/Keyboard speed of 60 wpm
- Excellent organizational & interpersonal skills essential
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under pressure
- Consent to a Non-Union Averaging Agreement is required for this position
- Previous Health Records experience, computer systems and a working knowledge of computer systems
