AddressPosition: Health & Safety Instructor (Working at Heights)
Employment: Full-time/Part-time
Location: Kingston, ON
Salary: $65,000-75,000 ($31-36/hr) to start, DOE
In order to meet our increased demand for training, Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is expanding our instructor-led training team, specifically for the CPO-approved Working at Heights program. If you are a knowledgeable and experienced health and Safety Instructor who is passionate about construction safety education and keeping workers safe, this role is for you!
The Instructor position will be based at our new Kingston location and could be full-time or part-time depending on the right candidate(s). The Instructor reports to the Manager, Instructor-Led Training and may be required to go to other area training centres occasionally, based on a monthly schedule set in advance.
As a Health & Safety Instructor your key responsibilities are:
- Delivering engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
- Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation
- Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
- Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops
- Following any provincial guidelines for COVID-19 in the classroom if required
The right candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- 3+ years experience delivering training
- Background in construction management and/or occupational Health & Safety preferred
- Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of Health & Safety training
- Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
- Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
- Valid Ontario's Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
- Able to legally work in Canada
