Salary
Range - $74,792 - $93,485 per year

The Simcoe County District School Board is
seeking qualified applicants for the position of Human Resource Services
Officer. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources and the Assistant Manager,
Human Resources, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing
support, advice and guidance to management, employees, and candidates in the
interpretation of provisions and requirements for related collective
agreements, particularly with respect to recruiting and staffing requirements,
negotiations, discipline, and grievance resolution. The
successful candidate will be highly motivated, personable and capable of
working both independently and as a team member in a sensitive and confidential
environment. This position may include the need to work additional hours
outside of regular working hours.
Qualifications :
- University Degree in Business, Labour Relations, Human
Resources or a related field;
- HRPA
designation would be an asset.
Pertinent Skills and Experience:
Five (5) years’ experience
in a generalist capacity preferably in an educational environment and/or large
complex unionized Human Resources environment;
Excellent
analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
Expert knowledge
of current employment legislation including the Labour Relations Act, Human
Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act,
and other relevant legislation;
Excellent oral and written
communication skills;
Excellent organizational and
time management skills;
Exceptional computer
literacy including experience with data management systems, Google docs, SharePoint,
One Drive, and MS Office applications (Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Access, Excel,
etc.);
Ability to work independently and as part
of a collaborative team, including the ability to work with cross functional
departments;
Ability to prioritize and work in a multifunctional
environment with competing priorities:
Experience working
with issues of a sensitive and confidential nature;
- Previous work experience in the area of Diversity, Equity
and Inclusion;
- Experience with large scale recruitment projects would be an asset;
Knowledge of
relevant Board policies and procedures would be an asset;
- Knowledge of the Education Act is preferred;
- The nature of this position may require the successful
candidate to travel to locations through Simcoe County;
- Other duties as assigned.

This is a permanent position that works twelve (12)
months of the year. The compensation range for this twelve (12) month position
is $74,792 to $93,485 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
This position is based on a thirty-five (35) hour work week.
Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is
mandatory for all full-time permanent employees,
even if currently in receipt of an OMERS
pension.
